Northwood University's external degree program, University College, provides
students the opportunity to visit the library for four days of intensive study during the month of July. After a preview of
Senator Margaret Chase Smith's life, students research a topic using one of the many primary-source case studies developed by the library staff. At the end of the week, students must present an oral report on their findings. A final paper on the topic is due a month after the session concludes. During the week, students also listen to a series of historical lectures, which they must summarize and submit in written form.
