Part two of Senator Everett Dirksen's passing. #OTD in 1969, Senator Smith traveled to Pekin, Illinois and attended funeral services at the Presbyterian Church for her friend and colleague. These photos are in the MCSL collection.
Illinois Senator Everett Dirksen, one of Senator Smith's most trusted colleagues, died on September 7, 1969. His funeral was held two days later #OTD in the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, DC. This photo from the event is in the MCSL collection.
