It's election day!
In 1960, Senator Smith took part in the first election between two women for the same Senate seat. This picture was taken #OTD in Old Orchard while campaigning against Lucia Cormier.
Our archive has more than 500 scrapbooks compiled by the Senator and her staff. This napkin celebrating Halloween is in one of them, but there is no indication as to why it was saved. Nevertheless, have a safe and spooky day!!
